Dundonald Castle is a unique Ayrshire wedding venue which boasts stunning views of central Ayrshire, the mountains of the Scottish Highlands and the Firth of Clyde from Arran to Jura. Dundonald’s 14th-century tower-house castle offers a truly magical setting for your special day.
A 14th-century tower house castle atop a least 3,500 years of local history. Say ‘I do’ within its stone walls beneath a stunning 650-year-old barrel-vaulted ceiling. The optimal acoustics allows each of your guests to hear your vows (no mics needed!). Outside, you’ll find spectacular views of central Ayrshire, the mountains of the Scottish Highlands, and the Firth of Clyde from Arran to Jura. The castle was once home to Scottish King Robert II and a medieval royal court, adding a unique touch to the spirit of the venue.
Enjoy an intimate wedding ceremony in the castle’s Laigh Hall, which can host up to 60 guests. Perfect for those looking for a rustic, romantic setting.
The castle is conveniently located in the Ayrshire region, just 30 minutes from Glasgow and various hotel accommodations.
Hosting your ceremony with us is a great way to celebrate love whilst also giving back to the community. Dundonald Castle is run on a daily basis by our small community heritage charity (Friends of Dundonald Castle SCIO (SC031541). Wedding ceremonies that support local community charities are becoming increasingly popular as couples seek to give back on their special day.
At Dundonald Castle, we like to keep things local and can suggest local businesses and suppliers in the area to help make your day even more special. This helps to keep the carbon footprint of your special day low whilst supporting small businesses and stimulating the local economy.
